The romantic, funny, and depressing ways people are finding Romance Tracker

Hey, if you're new here, why not subscribe to the Romance Tracker RSS feed?

Romance Tracker’s regular visitors and RSS subscribers are increasing every day, but as a newer blog most of our traffic is currently coming from people who type in romance search terms in engines like Google and find us among the listings. I try to scan through at least some of the hundreds of search terms that visitors use to check out romantic ideas here on Romance Tracker each day and wanted to share a few of the more amusing . . . and depressing! . . . from the list.

A few of the search terms that people have typed in to find this site are downright funny. It’s amusing to know that Romance Tracker ranks on the first page of Google for people searching for information on “being clingy,” “apathetic relationships,” and “how to stop being obsessive after a break up.” But I can’t say that I ever expected this blog to rank high for unenviable phrases like “avoiding boyfriend,” “things to do when your boyfriend’s gone” and–the strangest of them all–”falling in love when you’re ten.” Huh?

To tell the truth, looking through Romance Tracker’s daily search term lists can be a depressing experience sometimes, too. I really hope our posts are helping some of the people who find them, because I get the feeling that quite a few lovesick individuals are scanning our archives. It’s hard to smile at search phrases like “when they don’t say I love you back,” “top 10 things to do when depressed” and “how to get a life after a breakup.”

My favorite search phrase that someone used to find Romance Tracker, though, has to be “when I first kissed you I was afraid to love you.” I don’t know what kind of advice that person was looking for, but if they visit again, I hope they see this: there are lots of reasons to fall in love!

Some other top search terms that are leading people to Romance Tracker include “ways to say I love you,” “romantic ideas,” “old fashioned romance,” “ohmibod,” “ways of expressing love,” “first time love” and “romantic phrases.”

P.S..: Got a recent email from Chris Mills, a frequent commenter on Romance Tracker, asking to tell you all about a website he’s spent some time working on called The Crush Calculator. It helps you and your friends find out who has a secret crush on whom. Looks pretty cool, so go and check it out!
